For a private tailor-made Morocco tour, booking 3–6 months ahead is comfortable and gives you the best riads and camps. For peak weeks — Easter, October, Christmas, and New Year — aim for 6–9 months. Last-minute trips are still possible within a few weeks, just with fewer accommodation choices.

For a private, custom Morocco tour, three to six months ahead is the sweet spot. That window gives you real choice over the best riads and desert camps, lets you secure a particular guide or vehicle, and leaves time to refine the itinerary properly rather than rushing it. It also means you are not paying a premium for scarcity. For most travellers, this is the relaxed, sensible lead time.

Peak periods deserve more runway. Easter, the whole of October, Christmas, and New Year fill up fastest, and the standout riads and the better desert camps book out months in advance. If your dates land in those windows, six to nine months ahead is wise. The trip itself can be arranged quickly; it is the specific top-tier accommodation that runs out, not the ability to travel.

That said, do not assume a late decision rules you out. Because private tours are built around your own driver and a custom route rather than fixed departure dates, we can often put together an excellent trip within a few weeks, sometimes less. What you trade for booking late is breadth of choice — your first-pick riad in Fes might be full — not the quality of the experience itself.

My honest advice: if you have a fixed window and you know you want to come, get the enquiry in and the deposit down once the itinerary feels right, because the accommodation is what gates everything. If your dates are flexible, you have more slack. Either way, an early written quote costs nothing and tells you exactly what is still available for your dates.
