From Accra (ACC), I route you to Casablanca via Lagos on Royal Air Maroc or with one Gulf/European connection, reaching Morocco in roughly 6–10 hours total. Land in Casablanca, transfer to Marrakech, run a 7–10 day loop. Most Ghanaian passport holders need a visa/e-visa — verify officially. Confirm schedules.
Accra is well placed for Morocco even without a year-round non-stop. My usual play is Royal Air Maroc connecting through Lagos to Casablanca, which keeps you on a single airline and a familiar West African routing, or a one-stop via a Gulf or European hub if that suits your dates better. Total door-to-riad time typically lands somewhere between six and ten hours depending on the connection, so this is very much a trip you can do justice to in a week — none of the punishing multi-leg hauls travellers from further afield face.
I land Accra clients in Casablanca and move them on to Marrakech by the quick onward flight or the comfortable train, then build outward. A seven-day loop covers the Red City souks and gardens, the cinematic Tizi n'Tichka into the High Atlas, a Sahara night at Erg Chebbi, and the long scenic road back. Ten days lets me add Fes and the blue-washed lanes of Chefchaouen. Ghanaian travellers tend to be wonderfully social and food-curious, so I lean into a Marrakech cooking workshop and the slow ritual of mint tea rather than a checklist sprint.
On paperwork I am always upfront: most Ghanaian passport holders need a visa or e-visa for Morocco, so we start that early. Verify the current rules and the e-visa eligibility list through official Moroccan government channels, since requirements change and I never want anyone working from stale information. Once your dates are set I build in a comfortable buffer so the visa is done well before departure and never becomes a last-minute scramble.
What stays with my Accra travellers is usually the contrast between the warmth of the people — which feels instantly familiar to Ghanaians — and the strangeness of the landscape. A couple from Accra told me they expected the souks to feel overwhelming but instead felt completely at home haggling and laughing with the vendors; what undid them was the silence of the dunes at night. So I build the route so the Sahara lands mid-trip as the emotional centre, with relaxed riad mornings to balance the long drive days. Send me your dates and group size and I will choose the cleanest Lagos-or-Gulf connection — and please reconfirm live schedules, as frequencies shift seasonally.
