From Bangalore (BLR), connect through Dubai, Doha or Abu Dhabi to Casablanca (about 14 hours including the stop), or via Istanbul on Turkish Airlines. Indian passport holders need a Morocco e-visa — apply early. Build a 7–10 day route covering Marrakech, the Sahara and Fes.
Bangalore guests ask me about Morocco more than almost any other Indian city, usually techies wanting a real break. The honest starting point: there are no direct India–Morocco flights, so from BLR you go through a Gulf hub. Emirates via Dubai and Qatar Airways via Doha are the smoothest, Etihad via Abu Dhabi works well, and Turkish Airlines via Istanbul is excellent if you want a longer-stopover option. Reaching Casablanca takes around 14 hours including the connection. Schedules move around, so confirm the exact timing with the airline when you book.
The visa is non-negotiable and the thing people forget. Indian passport holders require a visa for Morocco; the Moroccan e-visa is usually the route I recommend, but it must be arranged before travel and the rules are updated periodically. Apply early and verify your eligibility and document list on the official Moroccan e-visa portal. I always have my Bangalore clients start this two to three weeks out so the flight money is never at risk.
For the actual journey, I like to send Bangalore travellers on a punchy 7-day loop — Marrakech and its souks, a night crossing the High Atlas, two nights under the stars near Merzouga in the Sahara, then the medieval maze of Fes. If you have annual leave to spare, a 10-day version folds in blue-washed Chefchaouen and breezy Essaouira on the Atlantic. A private vehicle and driver makes the long desert legs effortless.
My Bangalore tip is about pacing for the time zone. Morocco sits about four and a half hours behind India, so after a redeye you will be wide awake at dawn — perfect for sunrise photos in the medina before crowds build. Do not cram day one. Use our 7-day or 10-day itineraries below as a skeleton and let the first morning be gentle; you will enjoy the whole trip far more.
