From Belgrade, the smoothest route is via Istanbul on Turkish Airlines to Casablanca, around 9–11 hours total with one stop; Vienna or Rome are alternatives. Allow 7–10 days, arrive Casablanca and base your loop on Marrakech. Verify current schedules and check your visa requirements before booking.

Belgrade travellers always ask me whether there is some clever shortcut, and there is not — but the Istanbul connection is so good it barely feels like a compromise. Air Serbia and Turkish both fly Belgrade–Istanbul constantly, and from Istanbul you have multiple daily options to Casablanca. I keep clients on a single Turkish ticket end to end whenever I can, because a protected connection is worth far more than the small saving of splitting carriers.

When I plan a Serbian itinerary I lean on the fact that Belgrade has a friendly time-zone relationship with Morocco — only an hour or two of difference depending on the season — so you arrive without the brutal jet lag a transatlantic guest fights. That changes how I sequence things: I can put a real day in Marrakech right after arrival rather than writing off the first afternoon, which means your week stretches further than the calendar suggests.

I always land Belgrade guests in Casablanca and then shift the centre of gravity to Marrakech within the first day. From Marrakech I build outward: the Agafay or the deep Sahara for desert nights, Aït Benhaddou and the Ounila valley on the drive, and if you have ten days I add Fes and a slow morning in Chefchaouen. A week is genuinely enough for a first taste; I would not try to cram more than that or the driving days swallow the trip.

Two homework items I hand every Belgrade traveller: confirm the Istanbul–Casablanca timings yourself close to booking, since the schedule shuffles by season and I have seen good connections vanish, and verify your entry requirements directly, because passport rules are exactly the thing you do not want to take on trust. Do those, tell me your dates, and I will shape the rest around how hard or gently you want to travel.
