Honolulu (HNL) is the longest haul of all. Fly HNL to a mainland hub, then to JFK/Boston for Royal Air Maroc to Casablanca, or onward through Europe. Total travel runs 24+ hours, so build in a stopover. Then enjoy a 7- or 10-day Morocco loop.

I will be honest with my Honolulu clients from the first email: this is the longest journey to Morocco I plan, and pretending otherwise helps no one. From HNL you cannot reach Morocco in one or even two hops — you cross the Pacific to the mainland, cross the continent, then cross the Atlantic. Realistically you are looking at 24 hours or more of total travel, often closer to 30 with layovers.

My preferred structure is Honolulu to a West Coast or East Coast hub, then up to New York-JFK or Boston for Royal Air Maroc's direct Casablanca flight. The alternative is HNL to the mainland, onto a European hub like London, Paris, or Frankfurt, and a short hop to Morocco. Because the distance is so punishing, I almost always suggest a planned overnight — a night in New York or a European city — to break the trip and arrive human.

Once you are in Morocco the reward more than justifies the haul. I tend to steer Hawaii travellers toward 10 days minimum, because flying that far for a week feels lopsided; the longer route gives you imperial cities, the High Atlas, and a proper Sahara night without rushing. Coming from island life, my Honolulu clients especially love the desert silence and the dramatic mountain drives.

Plan this one early. Book the transatlantic Casablanca leg first, then build the Pacific and transcontinental positioning flights — and any deliberate stopover — around it. Time zones are brutal across this many segments, so I give Honolulu travellers a full buffer day on arrival and tell them to reconfirm every leg 48 hours out. Always verify the full multi-segment schedule with the carriers before you commit.
