From Ljubljana, route via Frankfurt, Vienna, Istanbul or Paris to Casablanca — around 9–12 hours door-to-door with one stop. Vienna and Frankfurt are short, frequent feeders. Plan 7–10 days, arrive Casablanca, loop from Marrakech. Verify schedules and check visa rules before booking.
Ljubljana is a small airport with a big advantage: it sits within easy reach of several excellent hubs. I often route Slovenian guests through Vienna or Frankfurt because the feeder hop is short and the onward Casablanca options are plentiful, but Istanbul on Turkish is my pick when I want one airline holding the whole journey. Some of my clients even drive or train to a nearby larger airport when the fares justify it — I am happy to compare both.
Because Slovenia and Morocco share almost the same time zone, I plan the trip very differently from a long-haul arrival. There is essentially no jet lag, so I do not pad the schedule with recovery time — your first afternoon in Marrakech can be a working one, wandering the souks or watching the Jemaa el-Fnaa come alive at dusk. For a traveller with only a week, that recovered day genuinely matters and lets the itinerary breathe.
I land Ljubljana guests in Casablanca and pivot quickly to Marrakech, which is my preferred base for any first trip. From there I run the loop everyone comes for: medina mornings, a Sahara night with a fire and a sky full of stars, and the drive over the Atlas through kasbah country. With ten days I add Fes and the blue alleys of Chefchaouen; with seven I keep it deliberately southern so you are immersed rather than constantly in transit.
Two things I always leave in your hands, because they have to be checked fresh: the exact timings of your chosen hub-to-Casablanca flight, since Vienna, Frankfurt and Istanbul all reshuffle their Morocco slots seasonally, and your visa or entry position, which you must confirm directly rather than trust to an old note. Sort those, send your dates, and I will tailor the days to whether you want to move fast or linger.
