From Lucknow (LKO) there are no direct flights — connect via Dubai, Doha or Abu Dhabi to Casablanca (about 14–15 hours including the stop), or via Istanbul. Some travellers route through Delhi for more options. Indian passport holders need a Morocco e-visa, so apply early; then plan a 7–10 day trip.
Lucknow travellers have surprisingly good Gulf links, but I always begin by saying there is no direct India–Morocco flight. From LKO you connect through Dubai (Emirates), Doha (Qatar Airways) or Abu Dhabi (Etihad) to Casablanca, or via Istanbul on Turkish Airlines. Some of my Lucknow clients position through Delhi for more frequencies and fares. Plan on roughly 14 to 15 hours of total air time including the stop, and verify the exact schedule with the airline, since Gulf-hub timings drift seasonally.
The visa is the step I refuse to gloss over. Indian passport holders need a visa for Morocco; the e-visa is the usual route, but it must be arranged before travel and the eligibility rules are updated periodically. Apply early and verify everything on the official Moroccan e-visa portal. My Lucknow guests who handle the visa first always have the most relaxed run-up to departure.
For the itinerary, I find Lucknow travellers — with their deep appreciation for heritage, craft and refined food — connect instantly with Fes. A 7-day loop covers Marrakech, an Atlas night, two nights in the Sahara near Merzouga, and Fes, whose ancient medina and artisan workshops feel like a kindred spirit to old Lucknow. Ten days adds Chefchaouen and the coast at Essaouira. A private driver makes the long desert roads effortless.
My Lucknow tip: give Fes an extra half-day if you can — the tanneries, the metalworkers and the food deserve a slow wander, and Lucknow guests always wish they had lingered. Practically, Morocco runs about four and a half hours behind India, so keep day one gentle after the overnight flight. Build the trip on our 7-day or 10-day itineraries below and let the imperial cities breathe.
