From Prague, Ryanair and Wizz Air run direct seasonal flights to Marrakech in around 4h 30m; otherwise you connect easily via Madrid, Paris or Istanbul. The time difference is one hour, so there is no jet lag. A long weekend is feasible in season, but 7–10 days lets you pair Marrakech with the desert.
Prague surprises travellers with how reachable Morocco is, thanks to the low-cost carriers. Ryanair and Wizz Air fly direct to Marrakech in around four and a half hours on a seasonal schedule, and when the nonstop is between seasons the connections through Madrid, Paris or Istanbul are quick and frequent. Morocco runs about an hour behind Prague, so you land with no jet lag and a full day still ahead — which is why, when the direct route is flying, a long weekend in Marrakech genuinely works from here.
For Czech travellers I usually suggest one of two shapes. If your time is short and the direct route is running, Marrakech alone is a superb three- or four-night escape — the medina, the gardens, a hammam and a day in the Atlas foothills. When you have a week or more, the trip I recommend most is the classic Marrakech-and-desert loop: a couple of nights in the city, then over the Tizi n'Tichka pass to the dunes for a night under the stars, and back. With a connection through Madrid you can also build an open-jaw, flying home from Fes to avoid the long backtrack.
On budget, Prague is excellent value for Morocco. The low-cost fares are cheap when booked ahead, and once you land the dirham stretches Czech koruna a long way across riads, food, taxis and guided days, so the trip feels affordable without cutting corners. The cost to watch is the budget-airline baggage trap, which can quietly double a tempting headline fare once you add a case and seat selection — so always price the real total. Travelling in the shoulder months also keeps both the fares and the riad rates down.
My honest planning advice from Prague: confirm the direct Marrakech route is flying in your travel month, since it is seasonal, and book early to secure the cheap seats. Decide whether you want a city break or a Marrakech-plus-desert week, then book the flights to match — a connection via Madrid opens up open-jaw options — and reserve your riads ahead for the busy spring and autumn windows. Factor the baggage add-ons honestly, pack for big day-to-night temperature swings, and always verify current schedules before committing.
