A women-only Morocco tour is a group trip exclusively for female travellers, often with a female guide, designed around comfort, safety and access — including spaces and experiences (hammams, women’s co-operatives, home visits) that are easier or more meaningful in an all-female group. It is popular with solo women seeking company and reassurance.

A women-only tour brings together a small group of female travellers — frequently solo women — for a shared journey, very often led by a female guide. The appeal is partly practical and partly experiential. Practically, it answers the very common worry of women considering Morocco alone: you get the reassurance of travelling in a group, with someone who knows the country handling logistics and any unwanted attention, and the easy companionship of women on the same wavelength. Many of our guests book precisely because they wanted to come but did not want to come entirely alone.

The experiential side is where these tours genuinely differ from a mixed trip. In Morocco, a number of spaces and interactions are gendered, and an all-female group unlocks them naturally. The hammam (traditional bathhouse) is a relaxed, communal, women-only world that is far more comfortable to experience together. Visits to women’s argan and weaving co-operatives, conversations with the women of a household over tea, henna sessions, cooking with the women of the family — these encounters tend to be warmer, franker and more open when the visitors are all women too.

The atmosphere on these trips is, by all accounts, special — supportive, candid, often quite joyful, with a freedom in the conversation that mixed groups do not always have. They suit solo female travellers above all, but also friends, mothers and daughters, and women who simply prefer that dynamic. A good female guide is the linchpin: she navigates the culture from the inside, smooths interactions, and is a reassuring constant throughout.

My honest notes: women-only departures are less frequent than standard ones, so dates can be limited and you may need to plan around them, and as with any group tour you follow a set itinerary and pace rather than your own. Morocco is, for what it is worth, a very common and welcoming destination for women travellers generally — but if the all-female format is what gives you the confidence and the access to say yes to the trip, it is a wonderful and well-established way to go. We can also arrange a fully private women-led tour if you prefer your own small group.
