October in Rabat is mild and mostly dry — highs around 24°C (75°F), cooler 15°C (59°F) nights and the first occasional autumn shower late in the month. Pleasant, golden and uncrowded, with the warm sea lingering. A relaxed, good-value shoulder-season choice.

October is a gentle, golden month in Rabat and a personal favourite for autumn travel. The fierce summer sun has mellowed to a warm 24°C, the light turns soft and amber, and the city feels unhurried after the summer rush. The first hints of the wet season may appear in the last week — a brief shower here and there — but the bulk of October is dry, bright and very comfortable for being outdoors all day.

It is a lovely time to walk. With the heat off, I send clients on long, slow circuits — the medina, up through the Kasbah des Oudayas, down to the river, out to the Chellah — without the midday surrender to shade that summer demands. The Atlantic is still warm from the long summer, so an early-October swim is perfectly pleasant, and the beaches are peaceful now that the local holidaymakers have gone home.

October sits firmly in the value-rich autumn shoulder season. Crowds are light, the headline monuments are calm and unhurried, and hotel and riad rates are well below their summer and spring peaks. I think of it as a near-twin of April in terms of comfort but with smaller crowds and friendlier prices — a really smart booking for travellers who want excellent weather without the high-season premium.

Pack mostly light clothing for the warm days, but bring a proper layer for the noticeably cooler evenings, and slip a packable rain shell in your bag for the chance of a late-month shower. October is a fantastic anchor for an extended Morocco trip — the inland cities and the desert have cooled to their best, so this is one of the strongest months of the whole year to combine the capital with a broader loop.
