Assoufid Golf Club

Assoufid Golf Club is one of Morocco's most visually dramatic courses, designed by Scottish architect Niall Cameron and opened in 2014 on a spectacular desert site south of Marrakech. The course is carved from the region's distinctive red earth, creating a striking palette of crimson fairways, emerald greens, and the ever-present ochre desert that stretches toward the snow-topped High Atlas Mountains on the horizon. Cameron embraced the raw beauty of the terrain rather than attempting to tame it, resulting in a layout that feels elemental and timeless. Wide fairways encourage aggressive tee shots, but the desert scrub and native vegetation punish wayward play severely. The greens are large and undulating, offering multiple pin positions that change the character of each hole dramatically. One of Assoufid's great strengths is its sense of isolation and tranquility -- you feel genuinely immersed in the Moroccan landscape, far from the bustle of the city. The minimalist clubhouse with its expansive terrace is the perfect spot to watch the sunset paint the Atlas peaks in shades of gold and violet after your round.
