Navigate the stunning gorges of Paradise Valley near Agadir -- scrambling over boulders, swimming through turquoise pools, jumping from rock ledges, and sliding down natural waterslides.
Hidden in the foothills of the Western High Atlas, approximately ninety minutes from Agadir, Paradise Valley is a spectacular river canyon where crystal-clear turquoise pools are connected by cascading waterfalls, natural rock slides, and dramatic gorge passages that offer one of the most thrilling canyoning experiences in North Africa. This five-hour adventure takes you through the heart of the canyon under the expert guidance of a certified canyoning instructor who knows every pool, jump, and passage intimately. After a scenic drive through argan forests and Berber villages, you arrive at the canyon rim and descend through a palm-fringed trail to the river below. The canyon route involves a captivating sequence of challenges: scrambling over water-polished boulders, swimming across deep pools of impossibly clear water, traversing narrow gorge passages where the rock walls rise vertically on either side, sliding down smooth natural rock chutes into plunge pools, and -- for those who dare -- jumping from rock ledges ranging from two to eight metres into deep, safe pools below. Your guide assesses each participant's comfort level and offers alternative routes for those who prefer to skip the highest jumps. The canyon is surrounded by towering cliffs draped with ferns and wildflowers, and the light filtering through the narrow gorge creates an otherworldly atmosphere of deep greens and shimmering blues. At the midpoint, you rest beside a waterfall and enjoy a picnic lunch of fresh bread, fruit, and Moroccan salads. The return hike climbs through a fragrant argan forest where wild goats perch in the trees -- a sight found nowhere else on earth.
