Spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) are the best times for a Morocco honeymoon — warm days, comfortable desert nights and gardens at their best. Summer is fiercely hot inland, winter is cold in the Atlas and desert, and Ramadan changes the rhythm of cities.
After years of planning these trips, my answer barely changes: spring and autumn are honeymoon perfection in Morocco. From mid-March into May the country is at its most beautiful — wildflowers and roses in bloom, snow still capping the Atlas behind green valleys, warm days in Marrakech and desert nights that are pleasant rather than punishing. September into November mirrors it, with the summer heat fading and the light turning golden.
These shoulder seasons matter most because of the desert. The Sahara is the centrepiece of most honeymoons, and in spring and autumn the camel ride at sunset is comfortable and the camp night is mild — exactly when a candlelit dinner under the stars is at its best. In high summer the dunes are dangerously hot by day; in deep winter the camp nights drop near freezing, romantic with a fire and blankets but a shock to the unprepared.
Summer (June to August) is the honest weak spot. Marrakech, Fes and the desert can soar past 40°C, which is exhausting on a honeymoon — though the Atlantic coast at Essaouira and the high mountains stay refreshingly cool, so a summer honeymoon is possible if we keep you to those. Winter is lovely in the cities and on the coast, simply pack warm layers for the Atlas and the dunes.
One thing to plan around: Ramadan, whose dates shift each year, changes the rhythm of the country — many restaurants close during daylight and the pace slows. It can be a beautiful, atmospheric time to visit with the right guidance, but tell us if your dates fall within it so we set expectations and book accordingly.
