Two good ways: the direct train from Marrakech to Casablanca airport (~3 hours, into the airport’s own station — no city change needed), or a private transfer by road (~2.5–3 hours, door to terminal). For an international flight allow generous margin: take an early train or driver, since both immigration and the road can be slow.

Plenty of travellers fly home out of Casablanca even though they have spent their trip in Marrakech, and the good news is the connection is well set up. The standout option is the train: ONCF runs a service from Marrakech that goes through to Casablanca Mohammed V airport’s own station, so you arrive directly at the terminal without changing in the city. The whole run is around three hours, it is comfortable and cheap, and it drops you exactly where you need to be — a genuinely civilised way to reach a flight.

The road alternative is a private transfer or driver, which takes roughly two and a half to three hours on the motorway, door to terminal. I lean toward this when guests have a lot of luggage, are travelling as a family, have an awkwardly timed flight, or simply want to leave from their riad on their own schedule without train timetables. It costs more than the train but it is direct, you control the departure time, and a good driver builds in a buffer for traffic around Casablanca.

Whichever you choose, the watchword for a departure is margin. Casablanca is a busy international airport where check-in, security and emigration can all be slow at peak times, and I always tell guests to plan to be at the terminal three hours before a long-haul flight. That means working backwards: a three-hour train or drive plus a three-hour airport buffer is a six-hour head start, so an early-afternoon or even morning departure from Marrakech for an evening flight is sensible, not paranoid.

My honest planning advice: if you take the train, book a seat on a service that lands you at the airport with comfortable time to spare and check the timetable the day before, as schedules shift; if you drive, confirm the pickup time with your driver and pad it for Casablanca traffic. Have your boarding documents and any cash ready, and do not cut it fine — missing a once-a-day long-haul flight because a transfer ran late is the one airport mistake that really hurts.
