Buffalo (BUF) has no nonstop to Morocco. Fly the short hop to JFK or Boston for Royal Air Maroc's direct Casablanca flight, or connect through a European hub like London or Lisbon. Total travel is roughly 14–18 hours — among the easier US routes. Then run a 7- or 10-day loop.
Buffalo travellers actually have one of the friendlier setups in this part of the country, because you are a short flight from the best Morocco gateways. There is no nonstop from BUF, but the quick hop down to New York-JFK or Boston puts you right onto Royal Air Maroc's direct Casablanca service. One ocean crossing after a 90-minute feeder — that is about as clean as a long-haul gets from upstate.
The European option is equally valid out of Buffalo: connect through London, Lisbon, Paris, or Frankfurt and take the short hop to Casablanca or Marrakech. Whichever I book, total travel usually lands in the 14 to 18 hour range, which is genuinely manageable. Still, I keep arrival day soft — a riad, a long shower, and a tagine before any sightseeing.
For the trip itself I match the route to your interests. A 7-day loop covers Casablanca, Fes, the desert, and Marrakech at a steady clip; ten days adds the Atlas and lets the Sahara stretch into a proper two-night experience. Buffalo clients coming off long lake-effect winters tend to fall hard for Morocco's warmth and light, so I often lean the timing toward shoulder season.
The one Buffalo-specific caution is winter weather. November through March, lake-effect snow can delay that JFK or Boston feeder, so I deliberately build a long layover buffer and, for peak winter trips, sometimes suggest flying down the night before the transatlantic. Book the Casablanca leg first, position the BUF flight around it, and reconfirm both 48 hours out — schedules verify, snow does not negotiate.
