Fukuoka has no direct Morocco flight. Connect through a Gulf hub — Doha, Dubai or Abu Dhabi — for roughly 21 to 25 hours total, sometimes via a domestic or regional hop first. Land in Casablanca, then transfer onward to Marrakech or Fes.

Fukuoka is a wonderful place to start a journey but a long way from Morocco, so the Gulf carriers do the heavy lifting. From Fukuoka, the cleanest paths are Qatar Airways via Doha or Etihad via Abu Dhabi, where you fly the long leg west to the Gulf, change, and continue about seven hours to Casablanca. Some Fukuoka itineraries route through a quick regional connection — Tokyo, Seoul or Singapore — before picking up the Gulf flight, which is why I quote a slightly longer twenty-one to twenty-five hours door to door. Always verify the live schedules and connection windows, because the exact build varies by season.

When a trip needs that extra regional hop, I plan the layovers generously so a tight self-transfer never threatens the onward Casablanca flight — and where possible I keep the whole journey on a single ticket so the airline owns any missed-connection risk, not you. Doha is my go-to hub for Fukuoka clients given the comfortable transit and frequent onward service. And as with every long-haul Morocco trip, I price an open-jaw routing: into Casablanca, home from Marrakech or Fes, so your in-country days never have to backtrack.

The time difference is the familiar eight-to-nine-hour gap behind Japan, and the westbound outbound is the gentler direction. I never schedule anything demanding for arrival day — riad check-in, a slow medina wander, an early dinner, and the desert drive saved for a rested morning. After a journey this long I almost always recommend ten days minimum so the trip earns back the travel time, with proper room for Marrakech, a Sahara overnight, Fes and the north rather than a breathless dash.

Japanese passport holders currently get visa-free tourist entry to Morocco, but reconfirm with the Moroccan consulate before booking in case it changes. The rest is standard practice: draw dirhams from ATMs after you land rather than arranging yen-to-dirham at home, carry a second card as backup, and pack warm layers for cold desert nights and cool Atlas mornings. Choose spring or autumn, get the Gulf connection right, and Fukuoka launches a Morocco trip just fine.
