Hartford (BDL) has no nonstop to Morocco, but Boston is close. Fly BDL to Boston or JFK for Royal Air Maroc's direct Casablanca flight, or connect through a European hub like London or Lisbon. Total travel is about 14–18 hours. Then enjoy a 7- or 10-day Morocco loop.
Hartford sits in a sweet spot for Morocco because Boston is so close. For BDL clients I often book the short hop into Boston-Logan or down to New York-JFK, then Royal Air Maroc's direct flight to Casablanca. Some Hartford travellers even prefer to drive to Boston and skip the feeder flight entirely — it is under two hours and removes a connection point, which I am always happy to plan around.
The European routing is the other strong option from Hartford: connect through London, Lisbon, Paris, or Frankfurt and take the short hop to Casablanca or Marrakech. Whichever way I send you, total travel usually lands in the 14 to 18 hour band, which is among the gentler hauls. I still keep arrival day open for a slow riad afternoon so the jet lag does not steal your first real day.
For the itinerary I tailor to who is travelling. New England couples often want a 10-day route with imperial cities, an Atlas drive, and a Sahara overnight; a 7-day version keeps it to Casablanca, Fes, the desert, and Marrakech. Hartford clients coming off hard winters consistently tell me the desert warmth and the colour of the souks are exactly what they were craving.
My Hartford-specific note is to weigh the Boston drive against the BDL feeder flight in winter — a snowstorm can ground a small connection but you can often still drive to Logan. Book the Casablanca transatlantic leg first, decide your Boston access second, and reconfirm everything 48 hours out. Schedules shift seasonally, so verify with the carrier before you lock it in.
