From Kampala (Entebbe), connect via Addis Ababa, Cairo, or a Gulf hub to Casablanca — total 12–18 hours. Plan 8–12 days: Casablanca, Fes, the Sahara, Marrakech. Ugandan passport holders may need a visa or e-visa, so confirm requirements before booking.

Flying from Kampala — really from Entebbe airport nearby — to Morocco means connecting through a northern hub, since there's no direct service across the continent. The strongest options route via Addis Ababa on Ethiopian (an easy, frequent connection from Entebbe), Cairo on EgyptAir, or a Gulf hub such as Doha or Dubai. From any of these you pick up an onward flight to Casablanca. Total travel typically lands between 12 and 18 hours including the layover, so weigh a couple of routings for the best timing and reconfirm each leg before booking.

Given the continental crossing, I recommend nine to twelve days on the ground. A loop I love starting from Casablanca: take the train up to Fes for the medieval medina, cross the Middle Atlas to the Sahara for a night beneath the stars, then traverse the High Atlas through Ait Ben Haddou into Marrakech and fly home from there. If you have twelve days, fold in Chefchaouen's blue streets or a coastal stop at Essaouira to vary the rhythm.

On visas, requirements for Ugandan passport holders can change, and Morocco has been expanding an e-visa system, so check before you commit whether you need a traditional visa, an electronic one, or qualify for visa-free entry. Confirm through official Moroccan sources and keep your passport (valid six-plus months), hotel bookings, and return ticket ready. Hold off on non-refundable flights until your entry route is confirmed.

A few practical pointers. Morocco is two to three hours behind Kampala, so the time change is gentle and in the easier westbound direction. Spring and autumn bring the most pleasant weather for the full loop. English is widely understood in Uganda and serves you fine in Moroccan tourist areas, though a few words of French go a long way. Bring a fee-free card and withdraw dirhams on arrival; pre-book your first nights and the desert experience.
