Kaohsiung has no direct Morocco flight. Connect through a Gulf hub — Doha, Dubai or Abu Dhabi — usually via Taipei or a regional stop first, for roughly 21 to 25 hours total. Land in Casablanca, then transfer onward to Marrakech or Fes.

Kaohsiung is a long haul from Morocco, and the cleanest path runs through the Gulf. Because Kaohsiung has limited long-haul service, most of my clients here either hop up to Taipei Taoyuan and pick up Qatar Airways, Emirates or Etihad, or take a regional connection through Hong Kong, Singapore or Bangkok before the Gulf leg. From the Gulf it is a single onward flight of about seven hours into Casablanca, putting the whole journey at roughly twenty-one to twenty-five hours door to door. As always, verify the live schedules and connection windows, because the best routing depends on the season.

When a Taipei or regional hop is part of the plan, I build in generous layovers and, wherever possible, keep everything on one ticket so a missed connection is the airline's problem rather than yours. Doha is my usual hub recommendation for Taiwanese travellers given the comfortable transit and frequent onward Casablanca service, with Dubai a strong second. And I always price an open-jaw routing — into Casablanca, out of Marrakech or Fes — so the Moroccan days run in one direction instead of backtracking after such a long approach.

The time difference puts Morocco about eight hours behind Taiwan, and the westbound outbound is far gentler than the flight home. I plan a deliberately easy arrival day — riad check-in, a slow first wander, an early dinner — and hold the Sahara drive and any long transfers for the next morning once you have rested. After a journey this length I generally recommend ten days minimum, so Marrakech, a desert night, Fes and the imperial north each get proper time rather than a rushed sampling.

On entry rules, Taiwanese passport holders currently need a visa or eVisa for Morocco — check the latest with the Moroccan e-visa portal or the nearest Moroccan representative office well before you book, as eligibility and processing times change. Beyond that the prep is standard: draw dirhams from ATMs on arrival, carry a backup card, and pack warm layers for cold desert nights and cool Atlas mornings. Travel in spring or autumn, get the Gulf connection right, and Kaohsiung makes a solid base camp for a Morocco trip.
