From Yangon (RGN) there are no direct flights — connect via a Gulf hub like Doha, Dubai or Abu Dhabi, or via Istanbul, to Casablanca (CMN), roughly 17–20 hours including the stop and often two connections. Most travellers need a Morocco visa, so apply early. Then plan a 7–10 day loop.
Yangon travellers face one of the longer journeys in this region, and I plan them with care because there is no direct flight and frequently two connections. From RGN the most reliable routings are a Gulf carrier via Doha, Dubai or Abu Dhabi, or Turkish Airlines via Istanbul, onward to Casablanca, with total air time around seventeen to twenty hours including layovers. Myanmar’s long-haul options are limited, so I often position clients through Bangkok first — verify every leg with the airline before booking.
The visa is non-negotiable for travellers from Myanmar. Most passports from the region require a visa for Morocco, and with a routing this long you want it secured early. Apply well ahead of travel and verify your eligibility and document list on the official Moroccan portal. My Yangon guests who treat the visa as the first task, before locking in the multi-leg flights, always travel with peace of mind.
For the journey, Yangon travellers who love golden temples, bustling markets and gracious hospitality feel right at home in Morocco’s medinas. A 7-day loop covers Marrakech and its souks, a night in the High Atlas, two nights in the Sahara near Merzouga, and Fes. Ten days adds blue Chefchaouen and the Atlantic at Essaouira. A private driver makes the long desert roads comfortable after such a long flight to reach them.
My Yangon-specific tip: position through Bangkok for the widest choice of onward connections, and build a buffer day at each end so tight transfers never stress you. Morocco runs many hours behind Myanmar, so expect real jet lag — keep day one in Marrakech very light. Use our 7-day or 10-day itineraries below as the backbone and resist over-packing the schedule.
