How do I plan an elopement in Morocco?

And a planner to handle the unglamorous essentials: the venue permission, the timing for the best light, hair and makeup, flowers, and a private dinner to follow.

Where you elope shapes the whole mood. A medina riad rooftop at golden hour gives you the city's lanterns and rooftops as a backdrop. Agafay's stone desert delivers cinematic emptiness and Atlas sunsets 40 minutes from Marrakech. The Sahara dunes near Merzouga are the ultimate, if you'll embrace the journey and the heat. The Ourika or Ouirgane valleys in the High Atlas offer green, water, and Berber villages. I match the place to your two personalities, not a template.

Honestly, this is one of the most cost-effective ways to marry abroad — no guest catering, no big marquee, no room block — and one of the most logistically nimble. A simple, beautiful elopement can come together in six to ten weeks, sometimes faster, where a full wedding needs the better part of a year.
