Yes — Morocco is a stunning setting for a destination wedding or elopement, from palace riads and Atlas kasbahs to a private desert camp. Legal marriage for foreigners is bureaucratically complex, so most couples marry legally at home and hold a symbolic ceremony here, which we plan around.
Morocco is one of the most photogenic places I help couples marry. For an intimate elopement, the choices are dreamlike: an exclusive-use riad with a courtyard ceremony and a rooftop dinner, a kasbah in the Atlas foothills draped in lanterns, or — the showstopper — a private Sahara camp where you exchange vows on the dunes at sunset and dance under the stars. Even a guest list of two photographs like a film.
For slightly larger destination weddings we lean on the palace riads and boutique hotels that can take over a whole property, plus venues around the Palmeraie outside Marrakech. Local craft makes the styling effortless — lanterns, rose petals, mint tea ceremonies, gnawa or andalous musicians, a feast of tagines and pastilla. It feels lavish and rooted at the same time.
The one thing I am always candid about is the legal side. A legally binding marriage in Morocco for non-residents involves significant paperwork, translations and waiting, partly shaped by the fact that it is a Muslim country. Because of that, the vast majority of couples I work with complete the legal marriage quietly at home and hold a symbolic ceremony here — which removes the bureaucracy and lets us focus entirely on the celebration.
Honest planning notes: spring and autumn are ideal (summer is too hot for a desert or garden event, and Ramadan affects catering and music), and a good local wedding planner on the ground is essential for permits, vendors and contingencies. Tell us your vision and guest count and we build the venue, the styling and the experiences around it.
