April is peak spring in Rabat — warm, dry, and beautiful, with highs around 21°C (70°F), mild nights near 12°C (54°F), gardens in full bloom and reliable sunshine. It is one of the best months to visit, so expect more visitors and higher prices.
April is, for my money, close to perfect in Rabat. The rains have largely cleared, the days are warm but never heavy — around 21°C — and the Atlantic breeze keeps the city fresh even on the sunniest afternoons. This is the month where I stop planning indoor fallbacks and just let people live outdoors: long mornings in the Oudayas, lunch by the river, golden-hour at the Hassan Tower with that vast plaza of unfinished columns glowing.
Everything is in bloom. The Andalusian Gardens are at their absolute peak — roses, jasmine, orange blossom so heavy in the air you can taste it — and the Chellah is impossibly photogenic with green between the ruins and the storks in full noisy residence. I send a lot of honeymooners in April precisely because the city feels romantic and alive without the summer crush, and the temperate weather means you can actually enjoy walking it slowly.
The trade-off is that everyone else has worked this out too. April is high season, often coinciding with Easter holidays, so the monuments are busier, the better riads book out weeks ahead, and rates are at their spring premium. I tell clients to commit early — the standout boutique stays in the medina and the Oudayas go first. Mid-week tends to be calmer than weekends if you have flexibility.
Packing is easy and joyful in April: light clothes for the day, one warm layer for cool evenings, sunglasses and sunscreen, and comfortable shoes for all the walking you will want to do. There is essentially no rain to plan around. April also makes a brilliant base month for a wider loop — the imperial cities, the coast, even the desert fringes are all at their most comfortable before the heat builds.
