Yes — gambling is legal and Morocco has several casinos, mostly attached to luxury hotels. Marrakech has the Es Saadi casino and others, Casablanca has casinos including the historic Mamounia-era glamour scene, and Agadir, Tangier, and Mazagan (near El Jadida) all have venues. Bring ID, dress smartly, and expect roulette, blackjack, and slots.

Yes — this catches some people off guard, but gambling is legal in Morocco and there's a small, glamorous casino scene, almost always built into top-end hotels rather than standing alone. Marrakech is the liveliest. The casino at the Es Saadi is the best known, all chandeliers and roulette wheels, and a few other resorts run gaming rooms too. It's an easy, dressed-up night out after a day in the souks.

Casablanca, fittingly for the city the film mythologised, has its own casinos and the most cosmopolitan after-dark energy in the country. Down the coast, the Mazagan Beach Resort near El Jadida has a large, modern casino that draws weekenders from Casablanca, and Agadir's resort strip has gaming venues aimed at the beach-holiday crowd. Tangier, with its old international-zone reputation, completes the picture in the north.

Practically, treat it like any serious casino abroad. Bring your passport or ID — they check — and dress smartly; trainers and shorts won't get you far in the better rooms. Games are the familiar international set: roulette, blackjack, poker, and banks of slot machines, generally played in euros or dirhams. Drinks are served, which is worth knowing in a country where alcohol is otherwise fairly discreet.

I'd frame casinos as a fun add-on rather than a reason to come to Morocco — nobody flies here to gamble. But if you enjoy a flutter, an evening at a Marrakech or Casablanca casino is a stylish contrast to the rest of the trip, and a sensible way to round off a night that started with dinner. We can recommend the right venue near your hotel and brief you on the dress code so there are no surprises at the door.
