Yes. Rabat Zoo (Jardin Zoologique National) is the country's flagship — modern, well-laid-out, and home to the rare Atlas lion bloodline. Casablanca's Morocco Mall has a large walk-through aquarium with a glass tunnel. There are smaller animal parks too, but these two are the standouts worth planning around.

Yes, and the one I always mention first is Rabat Zoo, properly called the Jardin Zoologique National. It's genuinely good — modern, spacious, thoughtfully zoned into different ecosystems, and a world away from the sad little menageries you sometimes fear in this part of the world. The headline animals are the Atlas lions. These are descendants of the now-extinct-in-the-wild Barbary lion that once roamed Morocco's mountains, kept from the old royal collection, and seeing them carries real weight given the country's national football team is literally called the Atlas Lions.

For aquariums, the big one is inside Morocco Mall in Casablanca. It's a large cylindrical tank with a walk-through glass tunnel, sharks and rays gliding overhead, and the kind of wow-factor that hooks children instantly. Because it's in the mall, you can pair it with lunch, a film, and the indoor amusement zone and make a whole easy day of it — especially useful when the weather or the heat rules out being outside.

Beyond those two flagships there are smaller animal parks and bird collections dotted around, and the crocodile park near Agadir (CrocoParc) is a popular family stop on the coast with landscaped gardens as much as reptiles. Quality varies, so I'm selective about which I recommend, and I'll always tell you honestly if something isn't worth the detour.

Practically, Rabat Zoo fits beautifully into an imperial-cities itinerary — Rabat is on the natural route between Casablanca and Fes or Meknes, so the zoo becomes a relaxed morning rather than a special trip. The Casablanca aquarium works best as a wet-weather or rest-day option. We can book ahead, line up a driver, and time these so they're a treat that recharges the kids rather than another thing to queue for.
