Can you propose in Morocco (and where are the best spots)?

Proposals are some of my favourite trips to plan because Morocco gives you backdrops that feel cinematic without any effort. The one I am asked for most is the desert at dawn. We walk you to a high dune crest at Erg Chebbi while it is still dark, and as the sun lifts the whole Sahara turns gold and rose — couples drop to one knee with the entire desert as their witness, and a discreet photographer captures it from a distance. It is hard to beat.

In Marrakech, the private riad rooftop is the elegant choice: lanterns lit, the medina glowing below, a table set for two, the ring arriving with dessert. The Majorelle Garden in its cobalt-blue stillness is another beautiful setting, as is a terrace in the High Atlas with the valley falling away beneath you. Each one is intimate, photogenic, and entirely arrangeable.

The logistics are where we earn our keep. Proposing abroad means thinking about timing (sunrise and sunset are short windows), privacy (you do not want a tour group walking through), the ring through customs, and a photographer who blends in. We coordinate the camp staff or riad host so the champagne and the candles appear at exactly the right second, and brief everyone to keep the secret.

My honest advice: keep it simple and let the place do the work — Morocco does not need elaborate staging. Build a little buffer for nerves, choose a private setting rather than a crowded square, and tell us in advance so we can quietly handle the surprise dinner, the petals and the photographer. The "yes" is yours; the choreography is ours.
