From Abidjan, Royal Air Maroc flies nonstop to Casablanca in about 4 hours via its hub network. Plan 7–10 days: Casablanca, Fes, the Sahara, Marrakech. Ivorian passport holders may need a visa or e-visa, so confirm current requirements before you book.
Abidjan is well connected to Morocco through Royal Air Maroc, which uses Casablanca as its African hub. The nonstop flight from Abidjan to Casablanca takes roughly four hours, so this is a comfortable same-day journey with no transatlantic slog. If a direct flight doesn't suit your dates, RAM's hub-and-spoke network gives plenty of connecting options across West Africa into Casablanca. Either way, you can be in Morocco within a single travel day, which makes even a shorter trip well worth it.
With such a manageable flight, seven days is enough for a satisfying first taste, and ten lets you go deeper. From Casablanca I like to send travellers up to Fes for the medieval medina, then across the Middle Atlas to the Sahara for a desert night at Merzouga or Erg Chigaga, and back over the High Atlas through Ait Ben Haddou into Marrakech. Fly out of Marrakech to avoid retracing your steps. If you only have a long weekend, Marrakech plus a desert overnight is very achievable.
For entry, requirements for Ivorian passport holders can vary, and Morocco has been expanding an electronic visa scheme, so check whether you need a traditional visa, an e-visa, or qualify for visa-free entry before booking. Verify the current rules through official Moroccan channels, and keep a passport valid six-plus months, your hotel confirmations, and a return ticket ready. A few minutes of checking now prevents an awkward surprise at check-in.
Helpful context: Morocco runs roughly the same time as Abidjan (an hour's difference at most depending on the season), so jet lag is a non-issue. French is the working language in both countries, which makes navigating Morocco feel natural for many Ivorian travellers. Spring and autumn bring the kindest weather, though the short flight makes a getaway easy any time of year. Bring a fee-free card and withdraw dirhams once you land.
