May brings warm, dry, comfortable weather: days around 22–23°C, mild nights near 14°C, and very little rain. The Atlantic breeze keeps the heat gentle and the light is superb. Excellent for walking, the Corniche and outdoor dining; the ocean is warming but still cool. Pack light clothes and sun protection.
May is, for my money, about as good as Casablanca weather gets. The days are warm and settled around 22 or 23°C, the rain has all but disappeared, and the ocean breeze keeps everything from tipping into the heaviness you feel later in summer. I describe May to guests as "open-window weather" — bright, dry, and just warm enough that you want to be outside from morning until late, which is exactly how this city is best enjoyed.
With the weather so dependable, May is a fantastic month for ranging widely across the city. I will often build a full day of walking around it: the Hassan II Mosque in the cool of the morning, lunch in the port, an afternoon among the art deco streets downtown, and a sunset along the Corniche when the whole coastline glows. The Atlantic breeze is the secret ingredient — it means even at midday you rarely feel oppressed by the sun, unlike the inland cities of Marrakech or Fes which are already heating up uncomfortably by May.
Evenings are genuinely pleasant now, around 14°C, warm enough for relaxed outdoor dinners on terraces and in the harbour restaurants. The ocean is warming and tempting, and you will see locals starting to use the beach clubs along the coast, though the water is still cool enough that a long swim takes commitment. I usually point guests toward the seafront cafés and the beach-club terraces, where you get the ocean atmosphere without needing to brave the chilly Atlantic.
My advice is to grab May if you can — it offers warm, reliable, comfortable weather just before the summer crowds and humidity arrive, making it one of the most pleasant windows of the year for a Casablanca break. It also pairs beautifully with travel onward, since the coast stays comfortable while the interior bakes. Pack light, breathable clothes, sunglasses and sunscreen, and a single light layer for the cooler evenings, and May will treat you very well.
