April is lovely in Casablanca: warm, settled days around 20–21°C, mild nights near 12°C, and rain becoming infrequent. Clear Atlantic skies and blooming gardens make it ideal for sightseeing. Still too cool for serious swimming, but perfect for walking the Corniche. Pack light layers and sunscreen.
April is when Casablanca really hits its spring stride, and I think it is one of the best months of the whole year to visit. Days settle into a comfortable warmth around 20 or 21°C, the rain has largely backed off, and the city is green and blooming after the winter wet. There is a brightness to the light in April that I find hard to describe — clear, golden, and kind to photographs, especially in the late afternoon along the Corniche and around the mosque.
Because the weather is so reliable now, April is a brilliant month for the slow, on-foot exploration that suits this city. I love walking guests through the Habous quarter — the so-called new medina the French built in the 1930s — in the morning when the bakeries are pulling fresh bread and the spice stalls are setting up, then on to the cathedral and the art deco core. The temperature is forgiving enough that you can stay out for hours without wilting, which you absolutely cannot do here in high summer.
Evenings are mild and pleasant, hovering around 12°C, so for the first time in the year you can genuinely enjoy an outdoor dinner without bundling up, though I still throw a light layer in my bag for after sunset. The ocean is warming but still bracing — fine for paddling and the bravest swimmers, not for a relaxed swim — so I steer people toward the Corniche cafés and the ocean views rather than the beach itself. Sunset over the Atlantic in April, with the mosque silhouetted against it, is genuinely one of the great Casablanca moments.
My honest recommendation is that April is close to ideal for a Casablanca city break: warm, dry, beautiful and still ahead of the busiest summer months. Use the settled weather to combine the mosque, the architecture, the gardens and the food at an unhurried pace. Pack light layers, sunglasses, and sunscreen — the spring sun is stronger than the gentle temperatures suggest — and you will see the city at its very best.
