Yes — Morocco is excellent value, especially against European destinations. Food, transport, riads and guided experiences cost a fraction of comparable trips in Spain, France or Italy, while the cultural richness is world-class. A mid-range week here costs what a budget week costs in Western Europe. Luxury is the standout value: five-star pampering at a fraction of European prices.

In my honest assessment, Morocco is one of the best-value destinations a traveller can choose, and the comparison that makes it obvious is Europe just across the strait. A mid-range week in Morocco — lovely riads, good food, a hired driver, a desert night — costs roughly what a budget week costs in Spain, France or Italy, and the experience is arguably richer: ancient medinas, the Sahara, the Atlas mountains, a living culture you actually engage with rather than observe from behind a rope. You are getting more, for less, than almost anywhere within easy reach of Europe.

The everyday costs are where the value is most tangible. A superb tagine for four or five dollars, a comfortable train across the country for the price of a coffee back home, a beautiful courtyard riad with breakfast on the terrace for a fraction of a bland European chain hotel — these are not one-off bargains but the normal price of things. For a traveller used to Western European prices, the daily spend in Morocco can feel almost implausibly low for the quality on the plate and the charm of the rooms.

Luxury is, counter-intuitively, where Morocco delivers its most extreme value. The level of service, beauty and pampering you get in a top Marrakech palace or an exclusive desert camp would cost two or three times as much in the South of France or the Italian Lakes. Private guides, dedicated drivers, fine dining, spa and hammam rituals, design-magazine architecture — the whole apparatus of high-end travel is available here at prices that genuinely surprise people who are used to paying European rates for far less soul.

My honest verdict: yes, Morocco is excellent value, with the one caveat that value is not the same as cheap-at-any-cost. You can overpay if you fall into tourist-terrace restaurants, accept inflated first prices, or book the wrong middle-tier tour — and the hidden extras of tips and entry fees are real. But travel even a little like a local, and the value is undeniable across every budget level, with luxury the biggest steal of all. Exchange rates and prices move, so check current figures, but the underlying truth — Morocco gives you a lot for your money — is durable.
