Five days in Morocco costs about $400–$700 per person budget, $900–$1,800 per person on a private mid-range tour (~$100–$250/person/day), and $2,500+ for luxury — flights excluded. Five days is enough for Marrakech plus a 2-night Sahara loop or a Marrakech–Fes link.

Five days is the first trip length I genuinely like for Morocco, because it lets you reach the desert. The classic five-day shape is Marrakech, then a two-night drive over the Atlas to the Erg Chebbi dunes near Merzouga, then back — or, for culture lovers, Marrakech to Fes via Ait Ben Haddou and the gorges. Either way you are now paying for real distance: two big driving days, fuel, a desert camp, and a guide.

Budget five-day trips — group desert tours sold out of the Marrakech medina, dorm or basic-riad nights, set menus — come in around $400–$700 per person all-in on the ground. These shared Sahara tours are some of the best value in the country; the trade-off is a packed 12-seater, fixed stops, and a standard (not luxury) camp. Plenty of travellers have a wonderful time on exactly this.

The private mid-range version — your own driver for the whole loop, riads in the $90–$150 band, a comfortable desert camp with en-suite tents, a Marrakech guide — runs roughly $900–$1,800 per person for a couple sharing, which is again that $100–$250 per person per day mid-range zone. The single biggest variable is the desert camp: a standard camp might be $80 a head, a luxury camp with proper beds, plumbing, and a private dinner can be $250–$400.

Luxury five-day trips with 5-star riads, a premium 4x4, and a top desert camp start around $2,500 a person and climb from there. My practical advice for five days: do not try to add Chefchaouen or the coast as well — you will spend the trip in the car. Pick desert OR the imperial-cities culture line, do it properly, and the budget behaves.
