Atlas Mountain Zip Line

Perched in the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains, just forty-five minutes from Marrakech, this thrilling zip line course offers a bird's-eye perspective on one of the most beautiful valleys in Morocco. The course consists of six zip lines of varying length and height, connected by platforms built into the mountainside and linked by suspension bridges and short hiking trails. The experience begins with a safety briefing at the base station, where your certified instructor fits your harness, helmet, and gloves and explains the braking and positioning techniques you will need. The first zip line eases you in gently -- a short, moderate run across a grove of olive trees that lets you get comfortable with the sensation of flight. But by the third and fourth lines, you are soaring at considerable height above the valley floor, with the river glinting far below and the terraced orchards and Berber villages of the Ourika Valley spread out before you like a living map. The signature line -- the longest at over 300 metres -- launches from a cliff edge and carries you across the entire width of the gorge at speeds that make the wind roar in your ears and your heart pound with pure exhilaration. Between zip lines, the connecting trails pass through fragrant herb gardens, across swaying rope bridges, and past viewpoints where the peaks of the High Atlas stack up in receding blue ridges toward the distant horizon. The entire experience is designed to be accessible to anyone aged eight and above, with no climbing experience required.
