Yes — sunset sailing and catamaran cruises run from the Atlantic ports, most reliably out of Agadir and the marina at Essaouira, plus charters from Tangier on the Mediterranean side. Expect breezy Atlantic conditions, dolphin sightings off Agadir, and dramatic light as the sun drops into the ocean.

Sailing in Morocco means the Atlantic, and the Atlantic means wind — which makes for lively, exhilarating sails rather than glassy Mediterranean drifting. The most established sunset trips run out of Agadir, where catamaran cruises glide along the bay as the sun sinks into the ocean, often with pods of dolphins playing off the bow on the way out. The boats are comfortable, usually with a meal or tapas and music, and it is an easy, romantic evening that suits couples and families alike. I book these often for honeymooners staying on the southern coast.

Essaouira is the other gem, and my personal favourite for atmosphere. The old fishing port and its blue boats, the Skala ramparts catching the last light, and the famous Essaouira wind in the sails make for a wonderfully cinematic sunset cruise. Because the town is windy by nature, the sailing is genuinely sporty — I tell guests to expect spray and a brisk breeze, which is part of the fun, not a flaw. A jacket and a sense of adventure go a long way.

Up on the Mediterranean side, Tangier offers charters out across the Strait of Gibraltar, with the remarkable sight of Spain and Europe on the horizon as you sail. The water there is calmer than the open Atlantic, and on a clear evening the light over the Strait, with two continents in view, is something special. Private charters can be arranged for groups who want flexibility.

A few honest practicalities: the Atlantic is cool and breezy even in summer, so bring a layer; afternoon wind can build, so sunset timing is chosen to balance breeze and comfort; and rougher days do get cancelled for safety. I always confirm the forecast and keep the booking flexible. When the conditions align, watching the Moroccan coast turn gold from the deck of a catamaran is one of the most relaxing ways to end a day here.
