Bristol runs seasonal direct flights to Marrakech and Agadir (around 3.5 hours on easyJet and TUI in the cooler months), so the South West is well served. Out of season, connect via London or a European hub. Build a 7–10 day loop, and verify current schedules before booking.
Bristol is a quietly excellent springboard for Morocco, and that’s where I begin with South West travellers. easyJet has run seasonal direct flights from Bristol to Marrakech, and TUI has flown to Agadir for winter-sun holidays — both around three and a half hours. When these services are live, the convenience is hard to beat: a short flight from a friendly regional airport straight into the heat and colour of southern Morocco. Because they are seasonal and reshuffled each year, my first instruction is always to check the current timetable for your exact dates.
If your travel falls outside the direct season, Bristol connects without fuss. The usual routes are via London for onward British Airways flights, or via a European hub like Paris, Amsterdam or Madrid. Bristol is an easy airport to navigate, so a single connection with a comfortable layover keeps the day relaxed. I always build in buffer time at the transfer point so a delayed first leg never derails the trip.
With the flight sorted, I plan the journey. A 7-day loop from Marrakech — Atlas passes, a desert night, the kasbah road — gives first-timers the greatest hits, while a 10-day plan adds Fes, blue Chefchaouen or the laid-back Atlantic at Essaouira. Bristol travellers often have an independent, outdoorsy streak, so I happily lean into trekking in the Atlas, surfing near Taghazout, or slow coastal days if that’s your style.
A few South West specifics. The direct Agadir route makes for an effortless winter-sun escape — warm, beachy and close. Pack warm layers because desert and mountain nights are genuinely chilly. And with Morocco co-hosting the 2030 World Cup, expect rising interest from football fans across the West Country, which will firm up popular dates. As ever, confirm the season’s flight schedule before anything else, and then we’ll design the days to suit you.
