EgyptAir and Royal Air Maroc fly Cairo direct to Casablanca in around 5–5.5 hours. Egyptian passport holders should check the visa position carefully — entry rules can require advance arrangements — so always verify the current rule before booking. Allow 7–12 days for a satisfying trip.

Egyptian travellers from Cairo have a good direct option: EgyptAir flies Cairo nonstop to Casablanca, and Royal Air Maroc serves the route too, taking around five to five and a half hours. There's a couple of hours of time difference and no hub-hopping required, which makes a seven-day trip entirely worthwhile and ten to twelve days ideal for going deeper. Casablanca is your gateway; from there I build a loop through Marrakech, the Sahara, the Atlas and Fes so you never retrace your steps.

Planning-wise, I treat an Egyptian trip with the same generosity I'd give any traveller within a five-hour flight. My usual first-timer route puts you in Marrakech, out to a Sahara camp for a night under the stars, through the Atlas Mountains, and — with the longer stay — into Fes, whose ancient medina rewards anyone who loves Cairo's Islamic quarter, plus perhaps blue Chefchaouen. The cuisines and the call to prayer will feel familiar, but the Berber heritage, the Atlas landscapes and the particular character of Moroccan craft give the trip a genuine sense of discovery.

Now the honest, important part on visas: the position for Egyptian passport holders is not as simple as the visa-free EU cases, and it has involved specific entry conditions at times. This is exactly the situation where I urge you not to rely on hearsay or an old forum post — confirm the current requirement directly with the Moroccan embassy or consulate in Cairo well before you book, and ask specifically whether any visa, pre-approval or supporting documents are needed for your circumstances. Build in time to arrange anything required, and verify again close to departure.

A few Egypt-minded practicalities. Morocco is a fellow Muslim country, so halal food is the default and prayer is part of daily life — no special arrangements needed. Pack for range: Morocco can be hot like Egypt but turns genuinely cold at night in the desert and mountains and in winter generally. The dirham is the local cash currency, useful to have on hand even where cards are accepted. And the shared language thread — Arabic, alongside French and Berber — makes getting around feel approachable. Tell me your dates and interests, and once your entry arrangements are confirmed, I'll build the rest.
