Allow 10–14 days. Fly Mexico City to Casablanca via Europe — Iberia via Madrid, Air France via Paris or TAP via Lisbon — or via a US east-coast hub, totalling about 16–20 hours. Mexican passport holders get 90 days visa-free, but verify first. The 7–8 hour time shift means real jet lag, so pace day one.
Mexican travellers usually reach Morocco through Europe, and once you accept that, the planning gets simple. There's no nonstop from Mexico, so the most natural routings connect through Madrid (Iberia), Paris (Air France) or Lisbon (TAP) — all of which have frequent onward flights into Casablanca and Marrakech. You can also route via a US east-coast hub and then across the Atlantic, but the Iberian gateways tend to be the smoothest because Spain and Portugal sit right across the strait from Morocco. Total travel time runs around 16 to 20 hours depending on connections.
Because you're transiting Europe anyway, I often suggest turning the connection into an asset. A two- or three-night stopover in Madrid, Lisbon or Paris on the way over breaks up the journey, eases the jet lag, and adds a second destination to the trip — it's a favourite move for honeymooners and first-timers. From Casablanca I build the usual loop: Marrakech, the Sahara, the Atlas, Fes and back, ideally over ten to fourteen days so the long haul earns its keep rather than feeling like a flying visit.
On the body clock, be realistic: there's a seven-to-eight hour time difference between Mexico and Morocco, so jet lag is real here, unlike for Brazilian or South African guests. I always plan a gentle first 48 hours — a calm riad, an easy evening, a hammam instead of a packed schedule — and then ramp into the busier days once you've adjusted. Flying overnight on the transatlantic leg and getting daylight on arrival both help your system reset faster.
Visa-wise, Mexican passport holders have enjoyed visa-free entry to Morocco for tourist stays of up to 90 days, which keeps the paperwork light — passport valid six months, an onward ticket and a first-night booking. As with every nationality, confirm the current rule with the Moroccan embassy or consulate before booking, since policies can change. With the easy entry and the Spanish-language head start many Mexican travellers have in northern Morocco's old Spanish zones, I find Mexican guests settle into the country's rhythm remarkably fast.
