From Nottingham, fly out of nearby East Midlands Airport (with seasonal TUI flights to Agadir and Marrakech, about 3.5 hours) or use Birmingham/London for more direct options. Out of season, connect via a European hub. Plan a 7–10 day loop and verify current schedules before booking.

For East Midlands travellers, the good news is you have several nearby airports, so I start by mapping them. Nottingham itself is served by East Midlands Airport, where TUI has run seasonal direct flights to Agadir and Marrakech for package holidays — around three and a half hours. Birmingham is also within easy reach and frequently has direct Morocco services. Between East Midlands and Birmingham, most of my Nottingham guests can find a direct seasonal flight; the first step is simply checking live schedules for your dates, as these routes change every year.

If you’re travelling outside the direct season, connecting is easy from either airport. The usual options are via London (British Airways onward to Marrakech and Casablanca) or via a European hub like Amsterdam or Paris. I favour a single connection with a comfortable layover — Morocco is close enough that one stop still lands you there the same day without stress.

With routing decided, the itinerary takes over. For a first visit I suggest a 7-day Marrakech loop with the High Atlas and a Sahara night, or a 10-day version adding Fes, Chefchaouen or seaside Essaouira. Nottingham and the wider East Midlands send a lot of value-minded, adventurous travellers, so I balance the headline experiences — dunes, medinas, a mountain pass — with enough downtime to actually enjoy them.

A couple of local tips. Compare East Midlands and Birmingham departures side by side, since a short drive can unlock a better direct flight or fare. The seasonal Agadir route is a lovely, fuss-free winter-sun option. Pack warm layers for cold desert and mountain evenings. And with Morocco co-hosting the 2030 World Cup, expect demand to build around the tournament, so confirm the season’s timetable and book popular dates early.
