Qatar Airways flies direct from Doha to Casablanca (about 8 hours), the cleanest route from Qatar. Qatari passport holders enter Morocco visa-free for up to 90 days. Autumn, winter and spring suit Gulf travellers escaping the heat. A comfortable week runs roughly €1,800–2,800 per person; verify current visa rules before booking.
Qatar has an excellent connection to Morocco thanks to its own flag carrier. Qatar Airways operates direct flights from Doha's Hamad International to Casablanca, an eight-hour overnight-friendly hop that lands you straight into Morocco with no change of plane. From Casablanca it's a quick onward domestic flight or a comfortable train to Marrakech, Fes or Rabat. For travellers based in Qatar this is far and away the simplest routing, and the Doha–Casablanca service is frequent enough to give you real flexibility on dates.
On entry, Qatari citizens enjoy visa-free access to Morocco for tourist stays of up to 90 days, needing only a valid passport — a reflection of the warm ties between the two countries. That's ample for any holiday. As always, please verify the current visa rules before you book, since requirements can change, but as things stand a Qatari passport is all you need, plus the standard arrival formalities.
For Gulf travellers, the appeal of Morocco is partly the climate swap: when Doha is at its most blistering in summer, the Moroccan coast and the imperial cities are far more temperate, and the Atlas can be genuinely cool. I generally steer Qatari guests toward autumn through spring (roughly September to May), when Marrakech, Fes and the desert are at their most pleasant, with mild days and crisp evenings. Many of my Gulf guests also appreciate that Morocco is a fellow Muslim country — halal food is the norm, mosques and prayer are woven into daily life, and the rhythm feels familiar even as the landscapes and Maghrebi culture feel fresh.
On budget, a comfortable mid-range week from Qatar — direct flight, riads or four-star stays, a private desert experience and transfers — typically lands around €1,800–2,800 per person, with the luxury end (Morocco does sumptuous palaces, spas and private camps superbly) climbing well beyond. Day-to-day costs in Morocco feel modest to Gulf travellers, so the spend is concentrated in flights and accommodation. A 7-day plan covers Marrakech, the Atlas and a Sahara night; ten days adds Fes, Chefchaouen and the Atlantic coast.
My honest tip for Qatar: book the direct Qatar Airways flight to Casablanca, then let us collect you and run the journey from there — desert, mountains, imperial cities — at whatever level of comfort you like. With a same-language, same-faith, fellow-Arab-world destination just eight hours away, Morocco is one of the easiest and most rewarding escapes you can plan from Doha.
