Yes, with awareness. Thousands of women travel Morocco solo every year and have wonderful trips. The main issue is unwanted attention and comments from men rather than physical danger. Dressing modestly, projecting confidence, and using trusted transport and accommodation make a real difference.

Let us be honest and specific, because vague reassurance helps no one. Morocco is generally safe for solo female travellers, and serious violent crime against women tourists is uncommon. What you should expect, particularly in cities and busy markets, is verbal attention: comments, persistent vendors, the occasional man trying to strike up conversation or "help." It is intrusive and tiring rather than dangerous, but it is real, and you deserve to know it in advance.

Dressing modestly genuinely reduces unwanted attention — covering shoulders and knees, and choosing looser fits, helps you blend in and signals cultural respect. It is not about hiding; plenty of women wear short sleeves and enjoy themselves. It simply tips the odds in your favour. Sunglasses, walking with purpose, and avoiding prolonged eye contact with strangers who call out are small, effective tools.

Practical logistics matter more than anything. Use official or app-based taxis rather than unmarked cars, especially at night. Choose well-reviewed riads and hotels — staff at a good riad become your local allies and will arrange trusted drivers and guides. Share your itinerary with someone at home, and trust your instincts: if a situation or a "free" offer of help feels off, disengage and head somewhere busy or public.

Many solo women find that joining a small-group tour or hiring a private female-friendly guide for at least the first day transforms the experience — you learn the rhythm of the medina, get a feel for fair prices, and shed most of the hassle. From there, exploring independently feels far more comfortable.

The overwhelming feedback we hear from solo female guests is overwhelmingly positive: extraordinary hospitality, women-only hammams, warm host families, and landscapes they will never forget. Go prepared, go aware, and Morocco rewards you generously.
