Morocco by Bicycle
From Atlantic headwinds to High Atlas switchbacks and silent desert valleys, Morocco offers some of the most diverse cycling terrain on Earth -- all compressed into surprisingly short distances.
Why Cycle Morocco?
Extraordinary Terrain Diversity
Ride from sea level to 2,260 metres in a single day. Coastal flats, lush valleys, arid gorges, and high-altitude passes exist within hours of each other.
Quiet Rural Roads
Secondary R-roads weave through villages, olive groves, and palm oases with minimal traffic -- offering the kind of unhurried cycling that has largely vanished from Europe.
Year-Round Riding
Rotate between coast, mountains, and desert to find ideal conditions in every month. Morocco rarely forces a cyclist to put the bike away.

Road Safety in Morocco
Traffic Patterns
Highways (N-roads) carry fast truck traffic. Stick to regional R-roads and rural routes where traffic is light and locals are welcoming.
Road Surface
Major roads are well-paved. Secondary roads may have potholes or gravel shoulders. Carry a spare tube and basic tools.
Rural vs Urban
Cities like Marrakech and Casablanca are chaotic for cycling. Start rides from the outskirts and use transfers to bypass congested centres.
Visibility
Wear high-visibility gear and use front and rear lights at all times. Moroccan drivers may not expect cyclists on open roads.
Multi-Sport Tours
Pair cycling with trekking, camel expeditions, or surfing for the ultimate Moroccan adventure.
Cycle + Trek
Ride the Draa Valley then hike to Mount M'Goun summit. A week-long pairing of wheels and boots across the Atlas.
7-8 daysCycle + Camel
Finish a Todra Gorge ride with a two-day camel trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes for a desert-camp finale.
5-6 daysCycle + Surf
Coast from Essaouira to Taghazout by bike, then trade two wheels for a surfboard on world-class Atlantic breaks.
6-7 daysLuxury Cycling Lodges
Boutique riads and kasbah-hotels positioned along the routes, so every stage ends in comfort.
