From Luanda, connect via Lisbon or Addis Ababa to reach Casablanca — total 12–20 hours. Plan 8–12 days: Casablanca, Fes, the Sahara, Marrakech. Angolan passport holders may need a visa or e-visa, so confirm current requirements before you book.
Luanda's strongest long-haul links run to Lisbon, which makes Portugal the most natural gateway to Morocco from Angola. The routing I build most often is Luanda to Lisbon (a direct overnight flight of roughly nine hours on TAP), then a short hop across to Casablanca or Marrakech — Lisbon to Morocco is under two hours. The alternative is to route via Addis Ababa on Ethiopian and connect north from there. Total travel typically lands between 12 and 20 hours depending on the hub and layover, so compare both and reconfirm the onward leg.
Since you're covering serious distance, I recommend nine to twelve days. A loop that flows nicely from Casablanca: train up to Fes for the great medieval medina, cross the Middle Atlas to the Sahara for a night among the dunes, then come over the High Atlas through Ait Ben Haddou into Marrakech and fly home. With twelve days, add the blue town of Chefchaouen or a relaxed coastal finish in Essaouira. The Lisbon routing also makes a few days in Portugal an easy add-on if you fancy it.
On entry, requirements for Angolan passport holders can change, and Morocco has been rolling out an electronic visa for various nationalities, so verify before booking whether you need a traditional visa, an e-visa, or qualify for visa-free entry. Check through official Moroccan channels and keep your passport (valid six-plus months), accommodation confirmations, and return ticket ready. Avoid non-refundable bookings until your entry path is settled.
A few practical notes. Morocco runs roughly the same time as Luanda (within an hour by season), so jet lag is minimal — a real bonus. Portuguese speakers will find Morocco navigable in tourist areas, though French and Arabic dominate; a few French words help. Spring and autumn deliver the kindest weather. Bring a fee-free card and withdraw dirhams on arrival, and pre-book your first nights and the desert experience.
