December in Agadir is mild, bright winter-sun weather — highs around 20–21°C, cool evenings near 8–10°C, and frequent sunshine. The Atlantic is cold (~18°C) for swimming. It is peak winter-sun season, busy over Christmas and New Year, ideal for beach walks, golf, sightseeing and escaping the European cold.
December is the heart of Agadir's winter-sun season, and it's the month I most often recommend to people fleeing the northern European winter. Daytime highs settle around 20–21°C, the sky is blue far more often than not, and you can comfortably spend the day on the beach, on a golf course or wandering the souk in light clothing while back home it's dark by four o'clock. That dependable December warmth — protected by the Atlas and warmed by the southern latitude — is exactly why Agadir fills up with sun-seekers at exactly the time most of Morocco turns cool.
As in February, the honest caveat is the day-to-night swing. The afternoons are warm and golden, but once the sun sets the temperature drops sharply to around 8–10°C and the ocean breeze feels properly cold, so I always tell December visitors to pack a warm jacket and layers for the evenings — sunshine by day really does give way to a crisp, jumper-and-coat night. The sea, at about 18°C, is cold; this is not a swimming month for most, though wetsuited surfers are out enjoying the winter swell along the coast.
December is busy, and you should plan around that. The Christmas and New Year fortnight is one of Agadir's two annual peaks, with European families and long-stay visitors filling the resorts and rates climbing accordingly — book well ahead if you're travelling then. Either side of the holidays, early and late December, things are calmer and better value while keeping the same lovely daytime weather. The festive period itself has a cheerful buzz along the promenade and marina, which many visitors enjoy as part of the experience.
I recommend December in Agadir to anyone whose goal is winter warmth, sunshine and a relaxed beach-resort rhythm rather than swimming or wild nightlife — it's tailor-made for that. It's superb for golf, gentle sightseeing, Paradise Valley day trips and simply soaking up the sun. Just come with realistic expectations: warm bright days, cold evenings, a cold sea, and a Christmas peak that rewards early booking. For escaping the European winter, December on the Agadir coast is one of the best-value bets in the whole Mediterranean orbit.
