May in Agadir is warm, sunny and beautifully settled — highs around 23–24°C, mild evenings near 15°C, and long bright days. The Atlantic warms to about 19°C, so swimming becomes more inviting. With summer crowds not yet arrived, May is an excellent value month for a beach-and-explore holiday.

May is the month when Agadir really hits its stride for a beach holiday without yet feeling like high summer. The days are warm and dependable — highs around 23–24°C — the sun is strong, and the daylight stretches long into the evening. There's a settled, easy quality to May here: very little chance of rain, calm blue skies, and a sea that's finally warming enough to tempt more than just the surfers. For travellers who want genuine beach weather but find July and August too hot or too busy, May is the answer I give most often.

The Atlantic has climbed to roughly 19°C by May, which I'd describe honestly as refreshing rather than warm — but it's now firmly swimmable for most people, and on a hot afternoon it's wonderful. The breeze that defines Agadir's coast keeps the beach comfortable even when the sun is fierce, so you rarely feel oppressed by heat the way you can inland. Evenings are pleasantly mild around 15°C, the kind of warmth where you can eat outside in just a light layer and watch the sunset over the ocean without a chill setting in.

Crowds in May are still moderate — you're ahead of the European summer holidays and the big domestic influx — so the beach feels generous and the resorts and riads are good value. It's a lovely time for the wider region too: the inland landscapes are turning from spring green to summer gold, the argan harvest season is approaching, and day trips to Paradise Valley, Taroudant or Tiznit are warm but not yet scorching. Golfers love May for exactly this reason: warm, dry and not too hot to play a full round.

I'd recommend May in Agadir to almost anyone wanting the sweet spot of real summer-beach warmth, swimmable seas and gentle crowds before the peak. The only thing to watch is the occasional spring chergui — a hot, dry wind off the interior that can briefly spike temperatures and haze the sky — but it's usually short-lived and the ocean breeze tempers it. For value, weather and atmosphere combined, May is one of my top picks for the Agadir coast.
