Summer Agadir is warm, sunny and busy but rarely scorching — coastal highs of 25–27°C tempered by an Atlantic breeze, far gentler than inland Morocco. The sea is at its most swimmable (20–22°C in August), beaches are lively, and it is peak season for families and resorts.

Summer is when Agadir does exactly what a beach resort should. The Atlantic keeps the city remarkably comfortable — highs of 25–27°C rather than the 40°C punishing inland cities like Marrakech — so you can spend whole days outdoors without wilting. There's almost always a sea breeze, the sky stays clear for weeks on end, and the sheltered bay means the wind is far gentler here than down the coast in Essaouira. For a straightforward sun-and-sand summer, it works beautifully.

This is high season, so expect the beach and promenade to be lively, especially in July and August when Moroccan families holiday alongside European visitors. The long stretch of golden sand absorbs the crowds well, and the resort strip hums with cafés, ice-cream and evening strolls along the corniche. I always book the better sea-view hotels early for these months — they fill, and rates climb to their yearly peak.

The water is at its best now, too. August nudges the sea up to 20–22°C, the warmest and most swimmable it gets all year, and the bay's gentle shelving makes it good for families with children. Mornings are calm and ideal for a swim before the beach fills; afternoons bring more people and a light breeze that takes the edge off the heat. Sun protection is non-negotiable — the Atlantic air masks how strong the sun is.

My honest take: summer Agadir is comfortable and easy rather than dramatic. If you want a relaxed family beach holiday with dependable warmth, swimmable sea and a gentle breeze, it delivers without the inland heat. If you crave wind and atmosphere, you'll find more character a little north toward the surf coast. For pure beach comfort, though, these are the city's strongest months.
