August is the warmest, most humid month, with days around 26–27°C and balmy nights near 20°C, kept moderate by the Atlantic. Expect grey morning mist, the warmest sea of the year and crowded beach clubs as it is peak holiday season. Pack light summer clothes, swimwear and sunscreen; book ahead.
August is the height of summer and the busiest month in Casablanca, yet thanks to the ocean it never tips into the unbearable. Days sit around 26 or 27°C — warm, undeniably humid, but constantly tempered by the Atlantic breeze. I always remind guests that this is the great gift of the coast: while the interior of Morocco is in the grip of ferocious heat, Casablanca stays in a range you can actually live and move in. It is warm enough to feel thoroughly summery, mild enough to enjoy.
The coastal mornings remain soft and grey through much of August, with the familiar low sea cloud burning off toward midday. By now I plan around it instinctively, and so do locals — the city has a real summer rhythm of lazy mornings and lively late afternoons. The humidity is the thing first-time visitors notice most; it is the most humid month, and the air can feel heavy and close, particularly inland from the seafront. I steer people toward the breezy Corniche and beach clubs where the air moves and away from the stuffier pockets of downtown in the middle of the day.
Nights are balmy and warm, around 20°C, the most comfortable evening temperatures of the year for sitting out late, and the seafront stays busy well into the night. The ocean reaches its warmest now, so swimming is genuinely pleasant and the beach clubs are packed — this is peak Moroccan holiday season, families are off, and the whole coast is in full swing. It is a fun, social, energetic time to be here, but it is not a quiet one, so I always book restaurants and beach clubs in advance.
My practical advice for August is to embrace it as a vibrant beach-and-leisure month rather than a sightseeing-heavy one. The warmth and humidity make long midday walks less appealing, so do your culture early, your sea and shade midday, and your strolling in the cool of the evening. Pack the lightest summer clothes you have, swimwear, strong sunscreen and a hat, and treat the warm Atlantic and the buzzing seafront as the main event.
