July is warm and humid but far cooler than inland Morocco, with days around 26°C and mild nights near 19°C tempered by the ocean. Expect grey morning sea mist, warm afternoons and busy beach clubs. The Atlantic is finally swimmable. Pack light summer clothes, sunscreen and a thin layer for sea breeze.
July is peak summer, and this is when Casablanca's coastal location truly earns its keep. While Marrakech and the desert are pushing well past 40°C and become genuinely punishing, here on the Atlantic the days hover around 26°C, cooled constantly by the ocean breeze. It is warm and a touch humid rather than scorching, and I cannot overstate what a difference that makes — you can actually be out and about in the afternoon, which is simply not advisable inland in July.
The grey morning mist that started in June is a firm feature now. I have come to genuinely appreciate it: most July days begin under a soft low cloud that keeps the early hours pleasantly cool, then peels back to reveal sunshine by late morning or noon. I always plan the day around it — markets, the mosque, an air-conditioned café or the Morocco Mall in the hazy morning, then the Corniche, the beach clubs and the seafront for the bright, warm afternoon. Working with that rhythm rather than against it is the key to enjoying a July visit.
Evenings are warm and lovely, around 19°C, and the seafront comes alive — families strolling the Corniche, beach clubs busy into the night, terraces full. The ocean has finally warmed enough to be properly swimmable and refreshing, so this is one of the few times of year I actively encourage guests to spend real time at the beach clubs along the coast. Just be aware July is busy: it is high season, locals are on holiday, and the seafront and restaurants get lively, so I book the good spots ahead.
My honest guidance is to lean into July as a beach-and-coast city break rather than a heavy sightseeing marathon. The heat, while mild for Morocco, plus the humidity make midday wandering less appealing than in spring, so balance culture in the cool mornings with sea and shade in the afternoons. Pack light, breathable summer clothes, strong sunscreen, swimwear, and a thin layer for the breezy evenings, and Casablanca stays a comfortable, breezy refuge from the inland furnace.
