The honest answer: the risk is low but, as in most countries, not zero. Morocco has invested heavily in counter-terrorism and is considered one of the more stable countries in the region, with attacks being very rare. Most governments rate it safe to visit. Stay aware in crowded places and check your government's current travel advisory.

You deserve a straight answer rather than either blind reassurance or scaremongering, so here it is: the terrorism risk in Morocco is genuinely low, but no responsible person will tell you it is literally zero, because that is true of almost nowhere on earth today — including major Western cities. What I can tell you honestly is that Morocco is regarded as one of the more stable and secure countries in North Africa and the wider region, and that most Western governments rate it safe for tourism, which is reflected in the millions who visit every year without incident.

Some context helps you judge it sensibly. Morocco takes security seriously and has invested heavily in counter-terrorism and intelligence; its services are well-regarded internationally and have disrupted plots over the years. You will notice a visible, reassuring police and gendarmerie presence around tourist sites, transport hubs and major squares. Serious incidents have been very rare and are far apart in time. The country's stability, strong monarchy and tourism-dependent economy all create powerful incentives to keep visitors safe, and it shows on the ground.

The practical posture is the same one you would sensibly adopt anywhere with a low but non-zero risk — and which most of us already apply at home without thinking. Maintain general awareness in crowded public places, big events and busy tourist landmarks; know where the exits are; and if anything feels off, move away. This is ordinary travel sense, not Morocco-specific anxiety. Petty crime and road safety are statistically far more relevant to your actual trip than terrorism is.

My honest bottom line: do not let the question of terrorism put you off Morocco — by any reasonable measure it is a safe, welcoming, stable destination, and the warmth of the people is the thing you will actually remember. But because the global picture can shift, always check your own government's current travel advisory before and during your trip (the UK FCDO, US State Department and similar sites are the authoritative sources), and follow any specific guidance they give. That habit, not worry, is the right response.
