Agadir Al Massira (AGA) is a relaxed holiday airport about 25–30 km southeast of the city and beach resorts, roughly 30–40 minutes by road. It’s geared to package and charter flights, so it’s easy but a real drive from town. There’s no airport train — use a fixed-fare official taxi (around 200–250 MAD) or a pre-booked transfer.

Agadir’s Al Massira airport has the unmistakable feel of a sun-and-beach gateway, because that is exactly what it is — the entry point for Morocco’s big Atlantic resort, served heavily by European charter and package flights as well as domestic routes. The terminal is modern, calm and easy to clear, with the usual ATMs, car-hire desks, a cafe or two and a taxi rank outside. Queues are generally manageable, though a wave of charter arrivals can bunch up immigration, so a little patience helps.

The thing to know is the distance: Al Massira sits about 25–30 km southeast of Agadir and the beachfront hotels, so getting to your resort is a real 30 to 40 minute drive, not a quick hop. There is no airport train, and public transport links are limited, so realistically you are choosing between a taxi, a pre-booked transfer, or — if your package includes it — a resort coach. Many people arriving on holiday packages already have a transfer bundled in; check your booking before you arrange anything yourself.

For independent travellers, official airport taxis use a fixed-fare system, and because of the longer distance the rate into Agadir or the resort zone is higher than at Marrakech — typically around 200–250 MAD, more at night or to outlying areas like Taghazout. Agree it in dirhams before you set off and check the posted board. A pre-booked private transfer is the smooth, fixed-price option I recommend for a stress-free start, especially after an evening flight when you just want to reach the hotel and the sea.

My honest take: Agadir is the easiest of Morocco’s airports to land at in terms of the terminal itself, but the longest run to your accommodation among the resort cities, so factor that drive in — particularly if you are continuing up the coast to surf at Taghazout or inland toward Paradise Valley. Pull cash for the fare, confirm whether a transfer is already part of your package, and use the official rank or a named driver rather than anyone soliciting inside the hall.
