May is warm, dry and consistently bright in Tangier. Daytime highs around 21°C, tempered by the sea breeze, make for ideal sightseeing, and the wet season is firmly over. The white-tiered medina, the hilltop Kasbah and the bay where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean are at their most photogenic, and the city hums with the energy of early summer without yet feeling crowded or hot.

The Blue Pearl, Tangier, and the Rif Mountains
Three ways in — every one of them leads to a real travel designer, not a form into the void. Pick the one that feels like you.
It is excellent timing for the city and its coast alike. A morning in the Kasbah and the medina, a seafront walk along the bay, and an afternoon out at Cape Spartel and the Caves of Hercules all sit comfortably in the warm, breezy weather. The Strait views toward Spain are clear and dramatic, the cafés are at their liveliest, and the warm evenings are perfect for dining out on the Grand Socco or the seafront.
May is also prime for the northern day trips. Blue Chefchaouen through the lush Rif and the white coastal town of Asilah are both at their loveliest, with reliable weather and green surroundings. For travellers wanting Tangier warm, bright and breezy with crowds still modest, May is a confident, rewarding choice — arguably the city's sweet spot.
