| Good for | Warm, dry, reliable weather · Volubilis in clear spring light · Greener vineyards & countryside · A comfortable Fes-and-Meknes circuit |
May is warm, dry and dependable in the imperial city — the last comfortable month before the deep-summer heat. Daytime highs reach around 27°C, the skies are reliably bright, and the evenings are warm enough for easy outdoor dinners. The Bab Mansour gate, the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum, the Heri es-Souani granaries and the medina are all rewarding in the settled weather, and the surrounding vineyards and farmland are at their greenest.
Every tour is private, led by a licensed local guide, and fully customisable to your interests and pace. Prices are per person based on two travellers.

It is excellent timing to combine the monuments with the countryside before the heat builds. The exposed Roman ruins of Volubilis are superb in May's warm, clear light — though sun protection helps on the open site — with the mosaics and the Triumphal Arch among green grass and nesting storks. The hilltop holy town of Moulay Idriss completes a fine day trip, and Fes next door rounds out a two-city imperial circuit in reliable late-spring weather.
Crowds are present but the city stays calmer than headline Fes, and May's dependable sunshine makes it a strong all-round choice. Sightseeing is best taken at a relaxed pace with shade and water through the warmest midday hours, leaving the cooler mornings and pleasant evenings for the medina and the gates. With dry weather and the whole region accessible, May closes the spring window on a high note.
